It is a generic name for a device that controls flow direction, pressure and flow rate, provided in a system through which fluid passes, such as piping for liquids and gases.
Valves are available in a variety of structures depending on the liquids, gases, properties (combustibility, toxicity, corrosivity, pressure and temperature), characteristics, material of the valve body (metal, non-metal). In general, they are used for residential use such as water supply, gas and water heater, and for industrial use such as industrial equipment including tanks and cylinders.
· Globe valve: The valve box is shaped like a ball, the center line of the inlet and outlet are on a straight line, and the fluid flows in S shape
· Ball valve: A valve in which a spherical valve body with a cavity in the valve box rotates around a valve stem to open and close a flow path
· Gate valve: Also called a gate valve, it is a valve where its body opens and closes by partitioning the fluid passage
· Wing valve: A valve in which a disk-like valve body with a valve seat surface on its outer periphery rotates around a valve rod and opens and closes a flow path in a short cylindrical valve box
· Check valve: A valve with a body that operates to prevent backflow due to fluid back pressure
· Diaphragm valve: A valve that configures a flow path with a diaphragm and valve casing, which presses or separates the former against the inner surface of the latter to adjust the flow rate
