Flanged Nuts These nuts have a flange at the bottom of the hexagonal part. The flange plays the same role as a washer. Some flanges are "serrated" types with a rough rear surface while there are also other non-serrated flat types. Serrated flange nuts have non-loosening effects when compared to non-serrated flange nuts, but they also damage the fitting part.
