Question: Please explain about characteristic of material for each Oil free Bushing and washer.
Answer: Please refer to the "Table of Material characteristics and allowable characteristics (reference value)" below as characteristics are vary greatly depending on the material:
Question: Please explain about withstanding load of Oil free Bushing and washer.
Answer: Please see more details at "Maximum allowable load" in "Table of Material characteristics and allowable characteristics (reference value)" from above question
Question: Is there guaranteed value for moment load of Oil free Bushing?
Answer: There is no guaranteed value for moment load.
There is guaranteed value for surface pressure of load displayed at "Maximum allowable surface pressure"
Assuming that load acting on the surface of the inner diameter surface of the Bushing, surface pressure can be obtained by dividing the load applied to Bushing by the projected area (Bushing inner diameter x length). Please design it within the allowable maximum surface pressure.
Also, please consider on other criteria such as maximum speed, etc.
For more details, please see the "Table of Material characteristics and allowable characteristics (reference value)" from above question
Question: Please explain about the fixing method for Oil free Bushing.
Answer: Fixing method depends on product. There are 3 methods : "Set screw", "Press-fit", and "Adhesion" Please see more details about recommend fixing method in each product page.
• Fixing method for Oil free Bushing
1. Press-fit
For fixing Oil free Bushing by Press-fit method, please use vise or press machine in order to gently Press-fit.
We recommend to provide a chamfer at the end of the inner diameter of the housing and inner housing, and apply a few lubricant at the outer of Bushing to facilitate Press-fit.
2. Set screw/ Adhesion
For anti-rotation and falling prevention of Oil free Bushing, we recommend to mounting by follow the below diagram, please adapt it according to your operating condition and environment. ※2
Question: I am considering about selection between "Copper alloy type Bushing and washer" and "Dry type Bushing and washer".
In an environment where it is exposed to water droplets. Which one is better against corrosion?
Answer: Copper alloy type has better corrosion resistance.
In case of Copper alloy Bushing and washer, if shaft and bushing are exposed to water droplets all the times, the lubricant film between shaft and bushing will be flow out which will may enhance more friction resistance.
Dry type Bushing and washer are filled with Tetrafluoroethylene resin layer at inner side, so even exposed to many droplets, it will not effect to lubrication performance but the end surface is easily to be corroded. If it exposed to many droplets, we recommend to use the Tetrafluoroethylene resin type Oil free Bushing.
Question: Do you have Oil free Bushing and washer with Non-purple (copper-free specification) for using in copper-free environment?
Question: There is an oil stain on Copper ally type of Oil free Bushing and washer, is there any effect to operating performance?
Answer: No effect in operating performance.
Those oils come from filled lubricant inside product or rust-protective oil applied before shipping.
Question: The shape of Oil free Bushing flanged type and thrust type are similarly, what is difference between them?
Answer: The difference is lubricant at the flange end surface.
Flanged type does not have lubricant inside the surface of flange.
Thrust type has lubricant inside the surface of flange, so it is available to receive both radial load and thrust load at the same time.
Please see more details on the some application (No.000091 Large automatic door )at inCAD Library
Question: Please explain the meaning of Maximum allowable load of Oil free Bushing.
Answer: It is maximum allowable surface pressure. It is the allowable load that applied to the sliding surface of Oil free Bushing per surface unit.
Surface pressure can be obtained by projected area, calculated by "Load ÷Bushing inner diameter ×Bushing length"
However, it must be confirmed that Surface pressureP, speed V, andPV value(multiple result of P and V)must not exceed the allowable value.
Question: For Oil free Bushing copper alloy type, is it sufficient for lubrication even using with the shortest stroke condition?
Answer: It is possible to insufficient lubrication.
Although it depends on size, it is usually that some surface (or point) of shaft may not reach the lubricant located at the cylinder of Bushing when using with the shortest stroke. Therefore, the lubrication film will not be forming so the lubrication become insufficient.
For using Oil free Bushing with small traveling distance, we recommend to use Bronze type which are bronze casting with many porous casting for lubrication with lubricant.
Bronze type:
• Oil Free Bushings - Bronze, Straight, I.D. F7 O.D. m6
• Oil Free Bushings - Bronze, Flanged
• Oil Free Bushings - Bronze, Standard Flanged Housing Units - Compact Flange
Question: For g6 tolerance, which type of Oil free Bushing can reduce gap?
Question: I am currently using MISUMI linear Bushing, but considering on changing into Oil free Bushing. Are there any concern points I need to verify before changing?
Answer: There are 2 points that should be verified before switching into Oil free Bushing as following:
1. Does the similar shape product available?
2. Does it satisfy your operating condition?
• Oil free Bushing selection process
Question: Is this product compliance with RoHS?
Answer: Please see more details in product page for RoHS compliance information.
Question: Oil free Bushing with flange Model No. LF□□ is displayed as End of sale product.
Can I order it?
Answer: It cannot be order because it is discontinued product.
Replacement product is Model No. MD□□.
Question: SMFMS-S16 is displayed as End of sale product.
Can I order it?
