LAN / Reduced Wiring Network Cable

LAN and reduced wiring network cables are wiring cables used for Ethernet connections. Pair cables with modular connectors on both ends are generally called LAN cables, which are used for connecting to devices and circuits whose connections are interfaced with connectors. The cables are available in various types, such as the connector / terminal block conversion unit cables, industrial Ethernet connector cables, PCB connector cables, ribbon cables, and more. Conductor specifications can be classified into "solid wire" types with 8 solid copper wire cores with larger diameters, or "stranded wire" types where each of 8 conductors is made of bundles of 7 smaller-gauge wires. LAN and reduced wiring network cables are offered with different characteristics for different situations, such as vibration resistance and heat resistance, and it is important to use a cable suited to the application.

Cable Categories and Standards

Our range includes all major LAN cable categories to support diverse transmission speeds and bandwidth requirements:

  • CAT6A LAN Cable: Ideal for high-speed networks, supporting up to 10 Gbps over longer distances, with advanced shielding options like Double Layer Shield for EMI protection.
  • CAT6: Common in office and industrial settings, offering stable gigabit Ethernet performance with optional Single Layer Shield variants.
  • CAT5e: A cost-effective solution for 1 Gbps networks; highly flexible and compatible with most legacy systems.
  • CAT4 Cable: Suited for older or low-speed applications, mainly used in voice and data communication.

Shielding Options

To ensure signal integrity in electrically noisy environments, LAN and reduced wiring network cables are available with:

  • Single Layer Shield: Provides basic EMI protection, ideal for standard environments.
  • Double Layer Shield: Offers superior shielding performance, critical in industrial or high-interference settings, especially for DeviceNet cable and Profibus cable applications.

Conductor Types and Pairing Options

  • 2 Pair LAN Cable: Compact and lightweight, designed for short-distance communication or low-bandwidth data transmission.
  • 4 Core LAN Cable / 4 Core Network Cable: Provides enhanced reliability for moderate to high-speed networking in automation systems.
  • Solid Wire vs. Stranded Wire: Solid wire cables are suitable for fixed installations, while stranded wires offer greater flexibility for mobile or vibrating applications.

Application-Specific Features

To meet demanding industrial conditions, our reduced wiring network cables offer specialized features:

  • Oil-Resistant Cables: Prevent degradation in environments with hydraulic or lubricating oils.
  • Heat-Resistant LAN Cables: Maintain performance in high-temperature areas.
  • Flex-Resistant Designs: Perfect for dynamic installations or robotic arms where constant motion is expected.
  • Reinforced Sheath Options: Provide mechanical protection and extended cable lifespan in harsh operating environments.

Compatibility with Industrial Protocols

Our network cable lineup is engineered for seamless integration with industrial communication protocols, such as:

  • DeviceNet Cable (DNet Cable): Ensures reliable communication in industrial automation networks.
  • Profibus Cable: Supports high-speed, real-time fieldbus systems commonly used in factory automation and process control.
