A soldering iron main body is a tool for heating the solder or connection parts when soldering. This tool is used when connecting electrical wiring or attaching electrical parts to a circuit board. Metals that can be soldered with a soldering iron include tin, silver and gold. A ceramic heater type is a typical soldering iron type. This type starts up quickly and has excellent insulation performance. A nichrome heater type is also available that heats using the nichrome wire wound around the soldering iron tip. This type has a greater heat capacity than the ceramic heater, but a disadvantage is that the temperature takes longer to rise. Other specialized types include those that come with a heat-resistant cap for easy storage after use, and compact, lightweight and slim types.
