Limit Plain Gauge, A reliable tool used to measure and check the size of components with precision. It is ideal for ensuring parts meet required dimensional standards. Simple to use and suitable for a variety of applications in quality control and manufacturing.

A gauge that judges whether a machined hole is made to a specified size (tolerance).

Features:
- The limit plain gauge is a gauge that has one measuring surface based on the maximum actual hole size and another measuring surface based on the minimum actual hole size.- Through Side Plug Gauge: This gauge is for inspection of whether the diameter of the hole is larger than the regulated largest object size, and must be able to pass easily through the full length of the hole.- Blind Plug Gauge: This gauge is for inspection of whether the diameter of the hole is smaller than the regulated smallest object size, and must not enter the hole.- Comes in a plastic case, convenient for storage with rust prevention and impact resistance.
- The threaded part is coated with a seal peel, and the product is stored in a transparent plastic bag in the case.
- Comes with an inspection report linked to a serial number, used for quality control and gauge management.
- The tip of the gauge is chamfered C0.5 to 1.0 depending on the size.

Uses
- Can be used to inspect the go side made with the minimum value and the no go side made with the maximum value for the hole tolerance (pass range).

Frequently asked question (FAQ)

Question: What materials are used in the construction of the Limit Plain Gauge, and how does this affect performance?
Answer: The Limit Plain Gauge is typically made from:
•High-Grade Steel or Carbide: For the gauge tip and threaded parts, offering excellent durability and resistance to wear, ensuring long-lasting precision.
•Plastic Case: For storage, the gauge comes in a plastic case that is impact-resistant and has rust prevention properties, safeguarding the tool during transport and storage.
The use of these materials ensures that the gauge maintains accuracy over time, even when subjected to frequent use and environmental stressors, making it a reliable tool in the production environment.
Question: What is the role of the chamfered tip in the Limit Plain Gauge?
Answer: The chamfered tip (C0.5 to 1.0, depending on the size of the gauge) serves several important purposes:
•Ease of Insertion: The chamfered edge allows for smoother entry into the hole being measured, reducing the risk of damaging the edges of the hole or the gauge itself.
•Preventing Damage to Workpiece: The chamfered tip helps avoid unnecessary contact with the internal walls of the hole, preventing any unintended wear or marking.
Question: How is the Limit Plain Gauge packaged and protected?
Answer: The Limit Plain Gauge comes in a protective, transparent plastic bag within a case. The case offers:
•Impact Resistance: The durable plastic case protects the tool from shocks or damage during handling and storage, ensuring it remains in excellent condition.
•Ease of Storage: The compact case allows for easy organization and accessibility within a workshop or quality control environment.
Question: What are the tolerances associated with the Limit Plain Gauge, and why are they important?
Answer: The Limit Plain Gauge is available in various tolerance ranges based on the nominal size of the hole. The typical tolerances are:
•+0.01 to 0 for Nominal Size 2-3 mm
•+0.012 to 0 for Nominal Size 4-6 mm
•+0.015 to 0 for Nominal Size 7-10 mm
These tolerances define the allowable variation between the measured hole and the standard size. The Go side checks that the hole is sufficiently large, while the No-Go side ensures that the hole does not exceed the maximum allowable size. Accurate tolerances are critical for ensuring the integrity and function of parts, particularly in precision industries such as automotive, and manufacturing.
