The E2E NEXT is one size smaller than the conventional models and features nearly the same detection distance. (M12 has a detection distance of 7 mm, which is the same as the conventional M18)
By using e-jigs, you can easily upgrade existing equipment to enable sensor replacement time of 10 seconds.

The E2E NEXT (long-distance type) e-jig features IP67G protection that prevents foreign matter such as cutting oil and chips from entering,and can also be used in machining processes with cutting oil.
The E2E NEXT (long-distance type) can contribute to equipment miniaturization from various points of view while maintaining the detection distance.
Since the detection distance is about twice that of the conventional models,downsizing is possible。

The development of technology which is the basis of the long-distance stable detection technology featured in E2E-NEXT started in 2000.Housings of proximity sensors have a cylindrical shape with sizes from ø3 for the smallest, not allowing for many parts installed inside and the main circuit should be integrated using semiconductor process technology. For these reasons, this series uses a custom IC.
In prior models, custom ICs composed of analog circuits were installed.
However, the digital correction technology, which is an important factor in realizing long-distance stable detection that is the key feature of the E2E-NEXT, has a large circuit scale and required a fundamental review of its circuit design. The manufacturer took this opportunity and decided to introduce the hybrid digital-analog IC with a built-in digital circuit enabling micro wiring.
This IC features digital control of the oscillation amplitude of the proximity sensor and quantification and control of the adjustment amount for each sensor.
The detection distance and temperature characteristics of the proximity sensor are affected by the temperature characteristics of the parts and the layout of the circuit, so optimization is required for each type.
In addition, the correction amount of the detection distance varies depending on the shape and position of the parts composing the sensor.
In the past, this correction was adjusted in the intermediate process of production, but this is a large error factor.
Amid this background, the manufacturer succeeded in realizing the correction in the final inspection, by using their unique communication system to write the correction data of the detection distance and temperature characteristics to the hybrid digital-analog IC.
The most difficult point in the development of this hybrid digital-analog IC was that, even for the specifications that are implicitly determined from the conditions that are commonplace for conventional analog ICs as well as past experience, all the requirements had to be defined and included as the IC specifications.Cases with poor condition settings and/or insufficient inclusion to the specifications caused many failures, often resulting in the need of readjustment of the schedule.
Despite these odds, the manufacturer tackled this challenge with persistence and determination, achieving the world's longest detection distance* for a 2-wire proximity sensor.
