Wide Type That Is Effective When You Want to Reduce the Load of the Mating Material or When You Want to Widen the Ground Contact Area and Ensure a Thread-Locker Effect

Product appearance
- The wide type with a larger outer diameter is ideal when you want to reduce the load on the mating material, such as when the pilot hole is large, when fastening to a painting surface, or when the mating material is soft, or when you want to widen the ground contact area to ensure a thread-locker effect.
- Ideal for use with flanged bolts and nuts to optimize load distribution.
- Fastening with wide washers distributes the tightening load over a wider area and reduces the load on the mating ground.

How to Use Nord-Lock Washers and Precautions

Tapped hole
Please use it by attaching it between the bolt/nut and the mating material.

Counterbore
Although it is designed according to the counterbore hole diameter of the DIN974 standard, the washer outer diameter may be larger than the bolt head, so please check the dimensions before use.

Through hole
Be sure to use it on both the bolt and nut sides. If used on only one side, there is a risk of loosening on the other side.

Stud Bolt
It can be used without using adhesive.

When the pilot hole is a slotted hole or a large hole
A wide type Nord-Lock washer with a larger outer diameter is recommended. More effective when used in combination with flange bolts and nuts.

When the mating material is soft
A wide type Nord-Lock washer with a larger outer diameter is recommended. More effective when used in combination with flange bolts and nuts.
Cannot Be Used in the Following Configurations
- Combined use with plain washers and spring washers
- When the mating material is harder than the Nord-Lock washer
- When the mating material such as wood or plastic is very soft
- Fastening points where the surface of the mating material is depressed or greatly fits, such as a thick painting surface
- In the case of bearing structures, etc., which are premised on slipping between the materials to be fastened and between the bolts and nuts
- Fastening points where axial force is not generated with the use of intermediate fastening, etc.
